Clémentine “Clem” Desseaux and model Charli Howard are teaming up for a campaign to unite girls everywhere, and will rock the fashion industry to show them how to look at a model body.

The British model made headlines when she stood up to her modelling agency, last year. The 25-year old took to Facebook to air her grievances and share a shocking revelation about the fashion industry and the model body.

“The more you force [models] to lose weight and be small, the more designers have to make clothes to fit our sizes, and the more young girls are being made ill,” she added. “It’s no longer an image I choose to represent.”

To achieve this vision, Howard started working with MUSE Management, where she met with French plus-size model and blogger Clem. And now, they’re taking a stand collectively. The two collaborated to create an editorial and video effort called All Woman Project to change the view on how people in the industry see the model body.

Their assignment is straightforward: To push back on the lack of diversity in the modelling business and to reveal that girls of all shapes and sizes are not ugly, in fact just as beautiful.

Both Desseaux and Howard modelled with eight other models who are body-positive activists. With all the girls’s “defects” on total display and the pictures are untouched by Photoshop.

Howard expects this effort can get all sorts of people in the industry questioning why there aren’t enough campaigns in the world just like this one?

“We really want the media to celebrate women of all shapes and sizes and to stop training girls to think they have to be these white, skinny, tall, beauty ideals,” Howard said.

“Everyone looks completely different, and we need to embrace that and start really encouraging it more in fashion images,” she added.

“When you’re in a room full of women who aren’t completely oiled up and Photoshopped and stuff, you just realise how normal your body is,” Howard added.

“So if you imagine if more brands and campaigns featured girls of all different sizes, more girls would realize that as well”

What makes the effort even more exceptional is their alternative to team up with just female designers and using female photographers and videographers. It’s an effort actually for girls, by girls. And to Desseaux, it’s a wish come true.

“This is the type of campaign we always wish to be part of but never really are,” Desseaux said “We just wanted to showcase as much diversity and as much beauty as we could in one single campaign, and it’s been really amazing seeing all the girls on set together.”
