Street Style Shopping with Forever 21 Love
New experiences is something that everyone should constantly have and cherish, just last week I had a new shopping experience. Not having lived in India my whole life, street shopping seemed to be a concept that is exciting and difficult (bargaining!!). In Delhi there is a very famous market called Janpath which literally means ‘People’s Path’, it is a historical market that has been around for a very long time. Now living in Delhi one would have thought I have made a visit to this market but no, I discovered it last week for the first time due to Styledotme. Styledotme is a Delhi based startup and on their app it helps you get instant fashion advice from fashion experts and your friends when you really need it. It is your very own personalised fashion community! On the 14th and 15th May 2016 Styledotme tried to redefine street shopping by giving the chance to try on your street style clothes with a trial room right in the middle of the market that literally looked like an art installation. I happened to scroll through this on Facebook and decided to check out this event (Styledotme: Galikamall), not knowing exactly what I would find in Janpath, however it was amazing! It definitely was fun shopping when you get all the latest street style trends for a smaller price and you get to bargain as much as you want. I had a great experience and ended up shopping a lot for less. My look is completely inspired by street style shopping with Forever 21 love.
My outfit for today has one of the things I bought from the market, now perhaps to make myself feel better for not wearing everything I bought from there all together in one look I decided to pair the white shirt from Janpath with a skirt from Forever 21. Now this skirt was bought in a completely different shopping atmosphere: the mall! The DLF Mall of India has recently opened in Noida and is the largest mall in India which means more SHOPPING! I got this pale pink pleated midi skirt from Forever 21 and when I came back from my street style shopping day I thought that the combination of the two was great plus you can never go wrong with a white shirt can you?
All the events that have happened recently such as the Met Gala 2016, Cannes 2016 and Coachella 2016 we have seen a huge street style trend for silver metallic jewellery, especially chunky silver necklaces. So to finish of my look I choose this silver necklace with hints of gold and stones to go over my white shirt giving it all the attention. Recently I came across this online jewellery store Chica Blanca on Instagram and the minute I checked out their products I straight away bought this piece of jewellery. Other metallics to compliment the look was the silver belt across the skirt, bag and of course one of the shoe trends summer 2016; lace up sandals and mine were silver! So street shopping wasn’t that bad after all, who would have thought that street style shopping and high street shopping could work so well together, I hope you like my look let me know what you think!
